Why do you need a Vitamin C?

If you’ve visited us before, chances are you’ve heard us mention something about a Vitamin C. We’re big believers in using Vitamin C’s everyday and it’s one of the first products we’ll recommend to our clients.

So what does a Vitamin C really do?

This is a question we hear all the time. Vitamin C, usually seen as L Ascorbic Acid on the product label, is an antioxidant that helps prevent any damaging environmental stressors from affecting your skin. These stressors can include UVA/UVB, infrared radiation (IRA) and pollution, all of which may lead to accelerated skin aging.

Ozone pollution surrounds us all day, every day and it may contribute to premature aging that can lead to fine lines, wrinkles and sagging skin. You may notice changes in your skin such as excess oiliness, rough texture and increased sensitivity, all of which can be caused by ozone pollution damage.

Our 3 top selling vitamin C's

We’ve put together a comparison of our 3 top selling vitamin C’s and what they offer in addition to antioxidant protective benefits

SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic

Is Clinical Pro Health Serum

Dermaquest C Infusion Serum

  • Excellent for mature skin as it contains nourishing Vitamin E
  • Ferulic strengthens the skin’s natural protection

    • Energizes any skin discolouration as future signs of aging come through
    • Helps to treat sun-damaged skin cells & reduce the appearance of fine lines

Another one of our favourite Vitamin C's:

    Rejudicare 2CRM

This product has two forms of Vitamin C, L-Ascorbic Acid and slow release AAP (VitaC Stable)* for sustained protection. AAP is a new, stable water-soluble Vitamin C derivative known as Aminopropyl Ascorbyl Phosphate (AAP). AAP is a great antioxidant and helps stimulate the biosynthesis of collagen and helps brighten the skin, inhibiting the production of melanin which causes hyperpigmentation of age spots. Rejudicare's 2CRM protects against external aging factors and helps to reduce the signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles. It helps the skin to appear firmer, healthier and smoothes and evens the skin tone. It is a lightweight, fast-absorbing serum with a hypoallergenic fragrance.

Rejudicare also has two other Vitamin C products:

    2CRM+  - Contains a higher percentage of Vitamin C
2CRM Sal - With the added benefits of Salicylic Acid

If you have any questions about any of these products or if you're interested in learning more about why a Vitamin C might be beneficial for you, please contact us at jessica@villagespas.com.
